Here is a video that encourages protect trout eggs and fry. At first, Mom trout and Dad trout fuck, it’s disgusting. Fortunately, they do that underwater, so we see nothing. Then Mom trout leaves her eggs on the gravel of the river.

But it is also and above all very fragile.
So the advice at the end of video: Do not walk on the gravel of the river in winter and early spring, you may crush babies. Protect the river from excessive silt inputs from drainage or damage from the shore (invasive plants or animals).
